Buy Me Some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks!

On Saturday Larry and Marilyn took David and I down to Atlanta to go to a Braves baseball game.  I had never been to a major league game so it was quite a fun adventure! As you can see, we had great seats. The seats came with a $10 food credit which automatically makes this pregnant lady happy:) It was a great day of getting to catch up with my wonderous in-laws, being with my husband allllll day long, and enjoying a new experience. 

This is me in the visor Larry bought me since I had thoughtlessly not brought a hat. It really was a life saver in keeping the sun off my face and I got to look like a pro golfer woman:)

Look how cute my boy is! 

Here we are doing the Tomahawk Chop. It is the rally/encouragement motion for the fans to employ to spur on the fearless Braves;) On this particular day it worked! The teams were tied 1-1 at the bottom of the 9th inning when the Braves got a home run to win the game! Not bad for my first game!

This picture does not do my little pods justice at all. By the end of the day (4 hours riding in the car and 4 hours of sitting in a plastic seat in the sun) my feet were huge! I had goose eggs on the insides just cause the fluid had no where else to go. It was hilarious! I guess I need to get used to it with being pregnant in the summer time. They were back to normal the next day so no complaints here.

Meg's Baby Shower

Mary and I got to travel to Knoxville for Meg's baby shower this past Sunday. We  had so much fun! I was so glad to be able to be a part of that special time for my sissy. She truly was showered with gifts and will be well set when Laurel makes her appearance. The ladies at Cornerstone love Meg and do SUCH a good job of caring for her! Even though I'm so sad not to have her here I know she is right at home there. 

Meg doesn't even look pregnant in this picture! She has a super cute little belly. Laurel was rather naughty and didn't move for her Auntie Anne to feel. I was quite sad:(

A lady in the church made this dress out of left over material from the skirt Cherie wore for Meg and Will's wedding! Isn't that a special gift? This picture doesn't do the dress justice. It's stunning!

This is me holding Braden:) He is 5 weeks old. He belongs to Elizabeth who is a  good friend of Meg's. They worked at the Cornerstone office together until Elizabeth left to be home with Braden. I love holding babies!

On Monday we went to Crib n' Carriage which is a little baby furniture and equipment store that has been in Knoxville for years. I found this crib and it is an incredible deal! It felt much more solid then alot of other cribs I've looked at and it even came with a mattress because of the sale they are doing. I didn't get it because I was a little thrown off my how low it is. I have been picturing a crib that came up more to my chest then my hip. I really do love this one though and the price is brilliant. What do you all think of it? Any thoughts on the ease of using a crib that sits lower and doesn't have to have a side rail that moves up and down? 

Charleston!

David and I had a great trip to Charleston this past weekend. These pictures are all out of order because I am still learning how to upload pictures onto the blog. I hope you enjoy them!

Dave and I on the Battery. We spent tons of the trip just walking around and enjoying the homes and gardens. They are so lovely this time of year! I had only been in the winter and summer before.

One of the views from the Palmetto carriage tour we took It was expensive but I highly recommend taking one. It was an hour long and we learned lots of interesting history and folklore about the city.

The bedroom at the second B&B we stayed at. We wanted to say here both nights but they double booked us so we ended up getting a deal at a very swanky place right on the battery, but we liked this one best. This room was actually an upgrade from the one we were supposed to have. I loved it! It was so airy and old fashioned feeling. 

The people who worked at this glasses store said they have people come in all the time who just order frames with glass lenses because it's cool to wear glasses now! Think I should go for a pair?

Dave enjoying a break from our walking at Juanita Greenberg's Nacho Royale. We had the yummiest quesadilla EVER there. You can see a picture of it's delicious goodness below. If you like hip hole-in-the-wall Mexican you have to try this place. It was waaaaay down King Street. Well worth the walk:)

I love this picture because it makes me laugh. Dave wasn't quite sure what he thought of the massage chair at Brookstone. He came around though.

Breakfast at the B&B that was right on the battery. It was extensive as you can see!

You bedroom the first night. There was a tremendous thunderstorm the night we were there! Normally I am pretty scared of thunderstorms but this house is huge and has withstood 7 natural disasters that have hit Charleston over the years and who knows how many thunderstorms. I felt snug as a bug!

These were delivered to our room shortly after arriving:) 

The view from the piazza of the first house. We sat up here for a long time the first evening and it was my favorite part of the trip. Looking out over the water with a soft breeze was amazing and talking with my love was so sweet. He is such a precious gift to me, my best, best friend. 

I wish I could bring home for everyone the incredible smell of all the flowers blooming in the streets and gardens. We would be walking along and all of a sudden the air would just be filled with a soft perfume of blooms. It was SO lovely. Flowers were absolutely everywhere!

Well, that was our trip in brief (or not so brief, hehe. This was a super long post!) We had such a wonderful time being together and enjoying good food and a super cool old city. Can't wait to go back!

Baby Tummy

16 weeks! I can't believe how fast the time is going by! This baby will be here before I know it at this rate:) This picture was taken earlier today in Charleston (more pics of the trip to come.) Do you like my baggy maternity shorts? I can still wear some of my regular pants but they are not so comfortable anymore so I am having fun with the stretchy maternity waistbands....I am thinking they should just make all women's pants this way....so comfy. 

On the pregnancy front, I am feeling really good. They aren't lying when they say the second trimester brings a return of your energy. I have really enjoyed having it back! I feel I am in an "in between" stage right now. My tummy is growing but I can't feel the baby move so it still seems kind of unreal and I don't feel "bonded" to  the baby. Sometimes I wonder if I feel a few little taps but I think it's just digestion:) Any of you moms care to share what those first movements felt like??? I am VERY eagerly anticipating them. Clothing is also in between. I really don't need maternity tops but many of mine are looking a little tight. I have decided to stay away from the stores until I've really popped out more. Lots of being patient right now! But it is fun, fun times. I am enjoying seeing my tummy grow bit by bit and realizing I'm living what I've looked forward to for so long! It's so fun to think about nursery plans and baby gear (I am an early planner:) And every time I see an infant I just can't WAIT to hold our little baby in my arms!!!! God has been so kind to me to give me this desire of my heart!

Anyway, enough rambling. Without further ado....Here is the belly shot:)

We're Off!

Tomorrow morning David and I head off to Charleston until Monday evening! It is a trip that is jointly for my birthday and our anniversary (2 years on June 3rd!) I am very excited:) I have been to Charleston 3 times before, twice in the middle of summer (boiling hot) and once in February (cooold) so I am super excited about going in the beautyousness of spring! I will post plenty of pictures when we get home. Have a great weekend!

My favorite picture from our honeymoon!

Yes, it's St. John:) I had longed to go to the Caribbean since I was a little girl and God abundantly blessed me by allowing David and I to go there on our honeymoon. It was magnificent. Our friends Kevin Shipp and Bethany Teter got married on April 26th and went to St. John and stayed in the exact same little cottage David and I did. Thinking about them being there all week makes me want to go back so badly! I am going to be in Knoxville in a couple weeks for Meg's babyshower and I can't wait to see Bethany and hear all about their time. I hope they loved it as much as we did!

9 Holes and Sonic Heads

A couple weeks ago Dave and I went and played 9 holes of golf on a beautiful Friday afternoon (well, he played, I watched from the shade of the golf cart:) We also went to Sonic a few nights later which is one of our favorite summer treat places. Yum for cherry limeade! These are kinda boring pictures but were useful in my learning to post pics on my blog. Now I can be a picture blogging fiend! 

My boy is a good golfer:) It's lots of fun to watch him play!
